Why I Created 7YC: The Balm I Couldn’t Find on the Shelf
I didn’t set out to start a skincare brand. I was a mother, healing from surgery, trying to find something safe and simple for my family’s skin. Something I could trust.
But the more I searched, the more I realized - everything on the shelves was packed with fillers, fragrance, or ingredients I couldn’t pronounce. I had always been drawn to ancestral ways of living. I trusted food-grade, whole ingredients. I’d used olive oil and honey for years. But when I discovered tallow - everything changed.
This one ingredient, rendered from grass-fed beef fat, was unlike anything I’d used before. It mimicked the oils our skin naturally produces. It was rich in fat-soluble vitamins. And it didn’t sting, flare, or dry out our skin like so many “clean” products did.
That’s when I started formulating. Slowly. Simply. One balm at a time.
The Original Balm
The first 7YC formula is still my favorite:
Grass-fed beef tallow. Cold-pressed olive oil. Raw honey. Calendula.
No fillers. No fragrance. No fluff.
It’s the balm I used on my son’s cheeks. On post-surgery scars. On every dry patch and rash that needed care - not chemicals.
People started asking what I was using. I gave it away. Then made more. Then kept making more.
That’s how 7YearCycles began.
Why Tallow?
Tallow isn’t trendy - but it’s true.
It’s deeply nourishing, anti-inflammatory, and incredibly healing for sensitive, dry, or reactive skin. In a world that markets 15-step routines, I believe in one jar that actually works.
Because you deserve skincare that feels like home to your skin.
What 7YearCycles Stands For
This is more than skincare.
7YC is rooted in the cycles of life - the physical, emotional, and spiritual seasons we pass through every seven years. It’s how my father explained growth. It’s how I measure transformation.
Every product I make honors those cycles - whether you’re healing, becoming a mother, or just craving something real.
Final Words
I didn’t create 7YC to start a beauty empire. I created it out of necessity.
Because I’m a mother.
Because I couldn’t find anything clean.
Because I believe your skin deserves ingredients that have stood the test of time.
This isn’t just balm. It’s a return to what’s real.
And it all started with one jar.
You should try it...and then spread the word!!
